The S1 Pro's navigation and maps are outstanding, and the internal dToF LiDAR device allowing it to maintain the appearance of a slim profile while providing top-quality object avoidance. It drives close to walls without crashing, and avoiding steps, and it can also raise its mop when it drives over rugs and short-pile carpets. It had a difficult time when it came across carpets with longer piles and also some long, thick messes with dried-on debris.
Like many robots, the S1 Pro comes ready to come out of the box, and requires only the initial mapping run to figure out how it can navigate your home. Once that's done the map will be displayed in the app and rooms can be added or joined as needed.
